Day 1: Woodinville, WA to Kettle Falls/Colville, WA
After clearing the Cascades at Wenatchee, the vast plains of central Washington stretched out before me.
After about 100 miles of this, I entered the rolling Red pine forests of northeastern Washington. My route took me up the east side of Lake Roosevelt on Hwy 25 - definitely one of the most beautiful drives I have done in a long time.
Tonight I am camping in a National Park Service campground on the Lake. I chose a spot away from the water as all of the sites were very open and exposed and many had RVs an their attendant noise.
Tomorrow I will go to the historical museum and the old St. Paul's mission and the historical center., and then on to Dinosaur Provinvial Park and Chesterfield House. I don't think I will make either by tomorrow night, but hope to get within striking distance.
